The Do's and Don'ts of Using Facebook for Business

Facebook has over a billion users and everyday this number is growing, so it is certain that businesses can simply ignore this opportunity to market their businesses. Here are some do’s and don’ts of using Facebook for business.
Do’s
·         Post regularly to build a connection with people who have liked your page.
·         Offer people something that will give them a reason to like your page, like discounts, special promotions or invite to any event.
·         Ask questions from your fans and try to get feedback.
·         Research the type of people who have liked your page and try to post things that interest them.
·         Post about relevant topics like current events, topical issues and news.
·         Vary your posts, post photos, videos, plain text or links so people will stay interested.
·         Ask questions that get people to talk about what you are posting, especially if the post is related to your business. This is a brilliant way to get feedback from your fans and to know what people think about your business.
·         Try to post at times when your fans are likely to be using Facebook, usually people go to work in the day so later in the day is a better time to post.
·         Frequently check your competitors pages and see what they are doing and successful they are.
Don’ts
·         Don’t post so much that people feel the need to block your updates, you need to know how frequently you need to post to keep a connection so you don’t spam your fans with updates.
·         Don’t ask people to like or share your posts, your posts should be compelling enough to make people like and share your posts.
·         Don’t post the same thing repeatedly.

·         Don’t ignore people who try to reach you through your Facebook page, try to respond as quickly as possible.
